On Friday, we met with our 2nd grade buddies and taught them some coding. Wow, it was really amazing. Then in math we collected some data about our height and high jump to create a scatterplot. The level of competitiveness for just a little data was very entertaining!

Students were given the task to reconstruct an unknown dinosaur from a set of bones! They synergized well and came up with some interesting designs. We later looked at the actual dinosaur and were suprised to see it was a winged dinosaur.
We played Battleship with coordinate grids to practice our skills. Then on Saturday, 1/16, my Number Sense team competed in an UIL competition and came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd!We explored the MESSY world of sand erosion through wind, water, and ice. Goggles were a MUST. Learning is so much fun!
We played a game becoming weathering by tearing paper, erosion by carrying the torn strips and deposition by gluing down the torn strips down on an index card. My "erosion" friends tired really quickly. Next we went outside equipped with cameras to find pics of weathering and erosion. We took those pics back to the room and created a Google Slideshow with them.
