Students planned our Winter Party and had several great ideas! We had great food and fun games. Students planned a snowman contest where they wrapped each other in toilet paper and tried to race down the fourth grade hall and back to our classroom. The comedy that unfolded was hilarious!

Fifth grade leaders were an amazing addition to math night at BPE this year. I am proud of how hard the leaders worked and how committed they were to their role! While testing friction, we pulled density cubes across three different surfaces- carpet, sandpaper, and wax paper. We measured the amount of force required to move the cube across the surfaces with a spring scale in Newtons.
We had a "car" building contest to see who could reduce friction and use mass in the most efficient way to create a rolling vehicle that would travel the farthest. Each group used a 30 cm ramp and tile floor to keep variables the same. We were suprised by some "cars" that traveled the farthest.
